On Saturdays, I like to feature small, “Main Street” cookie companies. Not the “big dogs” with plenty of cash flow, but the little guys that really go out of their way to give you great customer service and an even greater cookie. In this economy, I think it’s vital to support our local businesses. Don’t you?

So this weeks Cookie Company Profile is on the Carolina Cookie Company, located in Greensboro, North Carolina. They offer gourmet cookie gifts, tins and gift baskets.

This fun cookie company has over 20 employees and has been around for 22 years! They pride themselves on high quality that folks have come to expect, while still keeping the small-town atmosphere and touch of Southern hospitality.They bake fresh every day, and that includes their mail orders. They ship your cookies the same day they bake them. How’s that for efficiency?

I asked them what their best selling cookie is and they actually have two! The White Macadamia Nut and their Chunky Chocolate. Yum! But when asked “If You Were One Of Your Cookies, Which One Would You Be And Why?” They responded with “Probably our Chunky Reese’s Peanut Butter – it’s a little different, a little nutty, but always hits the spot.

The ones I’m looking forward to ordering are cookies they carry seasonally. Gingerbread and Apple Walnut (coming Fall 2009). There’s just nothing like a Gingerbread cookie on a crisp fall day as you walk through all the red and golden leaves. Sigh…… Can’t wait! (You can view all their flavors here).
