Oreo Cookies & Fudge

January 2nd, 2010

Traditionally I post only cookie recipes here. But occasionally, I do enjoy making an exception. Yes, this is a fudge recipe. BUT…..

It’s fudge with…..(drum roll please…)…. COOKIES!

I feature many recipes from the blog I’m going to send you to today. Why?
Because her cookies are ALWAYS good! I’ve never had a bad cookie from one of her recipes, and today’s recipe for Maple Butterscotch Macadamia Blondies is no exception.
Man, are these good! I mean… that is…  if you like butterscotch, macadamia nuts [...]

Twix Bar Cookies

December 6th, 2009

The one thing I hate about the Twix candy bars, is that they are always gone so quickly. A few bites, and poof! My magic moment of bliss is over.

But now I have the solution. I’ll make my own! A whole pan full!

Chocolate Caramel Bars

November 30th, 2009

So I think I’m on a roll with the bar cookies as of late. I’m really into them for some reason. They just suddenly seem like the perfect comfort food to me.

The bars I have for you today are no exception. These Chocolate Caramel Bars are fantastic! The perfect end to a hard day’s work.

The Big “O” Bars

November 24th, 2009

If you want to taste a recipe that will stay in your family for generations to come, you’ve simply GOT to make this recipe. There’s just no way around it. Once you’ve tried these, you’ll never go back to any other bar cookie.

Chow’s Intense Brownies

November 14th, 2009

Ready for some serious brownies? Cause I’ve got em’!
If you’re seriously serious about your brownies, then seriously… try these.
Chow’s Intense Brownies are just as their name implies. Intense.
For me, these are the perfect brownie.
Now I’ll give you my little disclaimer here. Everybody likes a different type of brownie. Different recipes get different peoples skirts all [...]

Peanut Butter Fudge Bars

November 4th, 2009

I love the flavorful combination of these little bar cookie treats. I cut them small just like in the photo, and not only were they tasty, they were FUN to eat as well! Why are little bite-sized goodies always so much fun to eat? I sear, the smaller a cookie is, the more I eat of them. I don’t think I realize how many I’m eating when they are tiny. And let’s face it, tiny cookies have half the calories! (Please don’t burst my happy bubble.)

M&M Cashew Pretzel Bars

November 2nd, 2009

Cashews, M&M’s, and Ganache… oh my!

If you like a crunchy cookie, you’ll love these. It’s a bar cookie, but with more crunch and a fabulous “sweet and salty” effect. I added a little course sea salt to the top of mine, and I did thecaramel topping instead of the ganache…. for my first batch.

Cookie Dough Brownies

October 28th, 2009

You should only make these if you love a brownie that is ooey-gooey, soft and chewy, and oooohhh so yummy.

Pumpkin Pie Bars

October 19th, 2009

Pumpkin and butterscotch. Could there be a better combination this time of year? Me thinks not!
These Pumpkin Pie Bars are somethin’ straight outta pumpkin heaven! I just loved them! The oatmeal flavor mixed with the pumpkin really made me want to settle in by the fire, light some candles in my jack-0-lanterns and watch a [...]

If Oreo cookies and cream cheese sound like a fabulous combination to you, I’m here to tell you… you’re right!
I made these Cookies and Cream Cheesecake Bars for my husband after he had had a really bad day at work. I can honestly tell you, he was suddenly in a MUCH better mood when I [...]

Chocolate Toffee Bars

September 30th, 2009

Dear God,
Today is a sad, sad day.
Today, I mourn the loss of a beloved family friend. She has been part of our family for nearly 30 years, and I will miss her dearly.
My only consolation is that I have the fabulous recipe that killed her.
It’s the kind of recipe you bake in heaven, God. And [...]

The Sunday Review – Brownies

September 27th, 2009

I’ve avoided featuring brownies on this blog for a long time, simply because I’ve never been quite sure if they actually qualify as a cookie. But since I love brownies, and technically, they fall under the “bar cookie” category, I broke down and decided to start including them in my blog.
So I thought I’d start [...]

Snickerdoodle Cookie Bars

July 23rd, 2009

Today is my Birthday. I’m the big 3-5! Yep, middle age is arriving with full force and there ain’t a darn thing I can do about it….. except bake, of course.
Since I’m the only baker in the house, I thought I would bake up something special for my special day. So I gave these Snickerdoodle [...]

Lemon Squares

June 30th, 2009

There’s just something about a good lemon square that takes me back to my childhood. A time when family surrounded me for special occasions and wonderful celebrations.
My mom was well known for her amazing lemon squares. I remember as clearly as if I were holding one in my hand at this moment; the gooey, lemony [...]

Malted Mint Brownies

June 8th, 2009

Chocolate and mint… few things are so refreshing. So when I found this combination in a brownie, I was really excited.
I love Peppermint Patties, so I was eager to see if the strength of the mint in these brownies was strong enough to impress.
I was impressed. The brownies were nice and chewy-gooey, and the mint [...]

Samoas Cookie Bars

May 27th, 2009

If you like the Girl Scout Samoas, you’ll most likely enjoy these.
These Samoas Cookie Bars have just a hint of Shortbread in them, but they come very close to the “real thing”.
Sorry girls, but in a tough economy, sometimes you just have to say “no” to the girl scout at your door, painful though it [...]

S’mores Bars

May 19th, 2009

I’m sorry… did you want me to say something here? I could come back another time. It looks like you’re drooling… here… let me get you a towel.
Oh… did you want the recipe? Silly me. And here I thought you were just here for the pretty pictures. Isn’t food porn fantastic? The bad news is, [...]

Sugar Cookie Bars

April 24th, 2009

If you are looking for a fun cookie to bake and decorate, then I’ve found a really entertaining recipe for you! These Sugar Cookie Bars are a blast to make, and they make no apologies for being the sugar-filled treats that they are.
These would be perfect for a children’s party or just a fun and [...]
