I’m so please to announce the first edition release of the National Cookie Network’s Internet Cookie Decorating Guide.

It’s a link packed guide to a lot of information on how to decorate cookies. I cover everything from frosting, icing and fondant, to beginners tips, decorating ideas and recipes for “decoratable” cookies.

Just in case you’re baking up a last minute batch of Halloween cookies for a party tonight, I thought I’d give you a helping hand with the decorating.

If you love the idea of creating fabulously beautiful cookies, then I have the book that can show you how.
Creative Cookies: Delicious Decorating for Any Occasion is one of the best cookie decorating books I’ve come across so far. The photos are amazing, and the instructions are very detailed and easy to follow. The layout [...]

Ice Cream Cone Cookies

August 27th, 2009

I love it when I find really cute cookies. The kind that you just want to look at or give some one as a gift. The kind that are so well decorated, you almost don’t want to eat them. But then you do. And you enjoy them, but you almost feel guilty for messing [...]

The end of summer is arriving. School is right around the corner (if it hasn’t started already) and you know what that means. The holidays are coming! ~Gasp~
I know, I know. That’s not what you wanted to hear. But let’s face it. August is disappearing faster than you can blink and so is the entire [...]

I’ve never done this before. But then, I’ve never blogged about a cookie company that wrote their own book before either. So this Sunday Review is a bit unique.
You see, yesterday, I blogged about The Flour Pot [...]

I really need to do more posts on cookie decorating. There are just so many talented people out there who use a cookie as a canvas and end up with a masterpiece every time. I’m always amazed at some of the works of art people come up with.
Take this butterfly cookie for example. It’s almost [...]

Watermelon Cookies

June 17th, 2009

Summer just isn’t summer without a good BBQ, don’t you think? The smokey, tantlizing smells waft around your head like an angel gently guiding you towards the nearest grill, regardless of what’s actually on it. Yep, there’s just something about a BBQ that cries out for walks in the park to splash in and glasses of cold lemonade.
Take [...]

Frosting Vs. Icing

December 20th, 2008

If you’ve ever wondered what the difference is, or which one you should decorate your cookies with, this is the difference between the two.
Frosting is thicker and can be used to create different shapes and more intricate decorations like rosettes. Most folks like frosting a lot more because it has a richer, creamy taste. Frosting [...]
