Crunchy Dutch Cookies

I have no idea how old this recipe is, except that the copy I have is very old, tattered, and turning yellow. (I think the paper was originally blue!) It was most likely my mother’s recipe, although I found it mixed in with all my grandmother’s old recipes. Either way, it’s an old one!
