These traditional Greek cookies are called Kourabiethes (Go ahead, just try to pronounce that one!), and are typically baked in a crescent shape.
But no matter what you call them or how you shape them, these are some darned good cookies!
I had a rather difficult time finding rose water though. Not easy to come by in [...]

If ever there was a rugged cookie, this is it. A cookie that could saunter into a room in a hat and boots and make every woman’s head turn. A cookie with ripples and ridges in all the right places. A cookie so full of hot goodness, you just can’t help but stand up and grab it by it’s strong, hardy, ripley middle and plunge your teeth into it.

This recipe won the Pillsbury contest and it’s creator won…. you guessed it… 1 million dollars. Must be nice!
Well, I just had to give these cookies a try. I mean, who wins a million dollars for a stinkin’ cookie recipe??!

Well, I’ve finally tired of trying to reinvent the wheel…. sort of. I thought, this time, instead of trying to create my own cookie recipe from scratch, I’d try and adapt a recipe already floating around the Internet.
Oy, I found a good one! Not to sure the kids will like this, but they are really yummy for us grown-ups. After all, we need our kiddie-treats too, right?

I love the flavorful combination of these little bar cookie treats. I cut them small just like in the photo, and not only were they tasty, they were FUN to eat as well! Why are little bite-sized goodies always so much fun to eat? I sear, the smaller a cookie is, the more I eat of them. I don’t think I realize how many I’m eating when they are tiny. And let’s face it, tiny cookies have half the calories! (Please don’t burst my happy bubble.)

Cashews, M&M’s, and Ganache… oh my!
If you like a crunchy cookie, you’ll love these. It’s a bar cookie, but with more crunch and a fabulous “sweet and salty” effect. I added a little course sea salt to the top of mine, and I did thecaramel topping instead of the ganache…. for my first batch.

Is it a torte? Is it a cupcake? Is it a pie? No! It’s a cookie!
I love featuring cookies that have a little something different about them, and these Cherry Almond Cookie Pies are definitely different! But in a “rub-your-tummy-gotta-have-seconds-is-that-a-cookie-crumb-in-your-hair” kinda way.

I was trying to figure out what type of cookie to work on next, when a friend on Facebook asked me a question about peanut butter cookies. That got me thinkin’…

Done right, Macarons have a fabulously chewy texture (at least in my opinion.) All that chewy goodness coupled with a chocolaty ganache is just to die for. But then, if you go and add Nutella to the mix….!!

I was on twitter, where I follow @dominosugar. They had posted about a recipe on their web site called Pumpkin Scotchies. They sounded wonderful, but I wanted to come up with a naturally sweetened version since I haven’t done a naturally sweetened recipe for a while. So this is my adaptation of their recipe.

Oh yum.
These Lacy Honey Wafers could almost qualify for a chocolate chip cookie, but not.
Did that make any sense? No? Well, you’ll know what I mean when you bake them. My little bit of craziness will all make sense then, I promise.
I realized over the weekend (while attending the BlogHer Food Conference in San Francisco), [...]

Dear God,
Today is a sad, sad day.
Today, I mourn the loss of a beloved family friend. She has been part of our family for nearly 30 years, and I will miss her dearly.
My only consolation is that I have the fabulous recipe that killed her.
It’s the kind of recipe you bake in heaven, God. And [...]

I’ve been running across a lot of chocolate chip cookie recipes lately.
I’m not sure if it’s the time of year, or if there is just some universal force that wants me to bake more chocolate chip cookies. Either way, you won’t find me complaining. I do love me some chocolate chip cookies.
One of my goals [...]

Today has been quite a day. My little guy had to get blood drawn (always a huge ordeal), and the doctor can’t tell me what’s wrong with him (based on his last set of tests).

I gotta tell ya, I’m not a peanut butter fan. I’ve said this again and again, and yet I always seem to end up with some peanut butter cookies at least a couple of times a month. It never fails.

Nutella is an amazing invention. It’s such a wonderful treat to keep in the house. I just love the creamy texture and hazelnut flavor that little jar provides. It’s such a unique flavor all on it’s own. Very European.
So it stands to reason that it would be really good baked into a cookie. And you [...]
