I do love a good chocolate chip cookie. Few things in life give me more pleasure, comfort, warmth or a feeling of contentedness. A good chocolate chip cookie can really improve my day, regardless of how bad it’s been. I can just lose myself in the rich aroma as the sweet chocolaty waves wash over me. Follow that up with a glass of milk, and I can forget just about anything.

Including the fact that I still have some baking in the oven and they are now achieving a new level of burnt status. Go figure I was enjoying the first round in the back bedroom where I couldn’t smell the smoke from the oven until the cookies were WAY past edible!

But there is good news in the sad, sad story. I had more dough.

Catastrophe averted. All is well in my little world.

This Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe is pretty classic. I love the extra large chocolate chips. They really make for a fabulously chocolaty cookie. Be sure you eat them warm and just out of the oven. Just remember to eat them near the oven in case you get lost in all that sweet goodness like I tend to do.
