These lovely little cookies are from the Netherlands, and are traditionally served at baby showers (Use pink toppings for girls, blue for boys).
The dough is meant to be a bit less sweet than a typical sugar cookie because the topping is so sweet. The blogger who’s recipe this is said it best:
“It’s a buttery, crunchy oatmealy and nutty sweet and spicy cookie.”
These are fantastic for any occasion, and you can use different color toppings (called “muisjes“) to suite any event you are making them for.
