So most of you know what Saturdays are about around here. But I’ll recap for those of you readers who may be visiting my blog for the first time (Welcome!).
On Saturdays, I love to feature small cookie companies around our wonderful nation. Those “Main Street” businesses that need our support, especially in these hard economic times. You won’t read about the big companies here, they have their own, well paid marketing and advertising teams. No, this is about the little guys like you and me.
So who do I have for you this week?
This week’s featured cookie company is the Lucky Duck Sweetery in Canonsburg, PA.
Lucky Duck Sweetery features a delicious selection of pre-measured cookie mixes, cake mixes, and brownie mixes. The pre-measured ingredients make baking both convenient and enjoyable, and the “Create a Cookie Gift Baskets” make a wonderful gift. You can also choose from a variety of unique Cookie Cutters, such as the Cancer Awareness Ribbon, Country House, Butterfly, Heart, and more.
Lucky Duck Sweetery is the proud sponsor of Cookies for a Cure. With every purchase that is made, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
This amazing company is run by Amy Luciow. She started her online business in memory of her late husband, as her small contribution to making a difference in the fight against cancer. The words “Lucky Duck” are basically her interpretation of how she views herself, and how much she feels she’s learned and grown over the last five years. Although she has experienced loss and grief, she has developed a compassion that she never knew existed, and courage she never knew she had. She says, “I consider myself “lucky” to have been able to see my way through tragedy, and am blessed every day with the love and support of my family and friends.”
Give her Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix and the Cancer Awareness Ribbon Cookie Cutter, or her Peanut Butter Cookie Mix a try. They’re her best sellers, and for good reason!
If you’d like to help support this wonderful woman and try some of her fun cookie mixes yourself, here’s her web site: www.luckyducksweets.com
