Ladies and gents, I have a fabulous cookie company to tell you about this week. I just LOVE this company, and their cookies are so amazingly beautiful!
The Flour Pot, owned and run by Margie and Abbey Greenberg, is a small company that started in 2003 and has only 5 employees. Yet they have hundreds of customers every month, and bake a whopping 107,000 cookies on average every year!
This dynamic female duo are a fun pair, and it shows in their cookies. Margie is “full of bows and sweet details”, and Abbey loves being “fresh and flirty”. Now I ask you, aren’t those great qualities to have when you’re baking cookies? How can you help but mix some of that personality into your dough??
Their best sellers are their shoe cookies (pictured here). Aren’t they fantastic? Just look at that detail!

This company has a heart too. They recently paired up with Alex’s Lemonade Stand to create a lemon cookie gift box where a portion of the proceeds is donated to charity.
But the most unique thing about this company is the custom orders they offer. A customer can send them their party invitation and they can make a cookie to go along with it—without design charges. I mean, let’s face it. It’s not very often you can buy something in a small quantity that is made to your specifications. They know that details can make an event great (Margie was a party planner for twenty years) so they are happy to help with that process whether a customer is ordering 12 or 1200 cookies.
They sent me a few of their cookies to sample and the moment I pulled them out of the box, I was impressed.
The cookies themselves were very mild flavored. The decoration was perfect, and held up well in shipping. These cookies have a fantastic visual impact if you’re looking for a beautiful gift.

This mother and daughter team also wrote a wonderful cookie decorating cookbook entitled “The Flour Pot Cookie Book: Creating Edible Works of Art”. Their latest effort, “The Flour Pot Christmas Cookie Book: Creating Edible Works of Art for the Holidays” is due out in October.

Hi Susan,
Yes, I know. Tomorrow’s review will be on their book, and I’ve been in touch with the company about their new book. As soon as it is available in print, I will be hosting a contest for a copy of this book. I’m looking forward to reading it. If their first book is any indication, it should be fantastic!
Take care,
Tiffany
